Are you traveling outside your country in 2015? Traveling abroad is an amazing experience, but as everything in life it has its "not so perfect" side when it comes to remember important documentation. However I am going to give you some travel tips so you will know what exactly carry on with you for your next adventure. Get some pen and paper to write this on:
1. Personal id: It will identify you once you reach your destination. You can have this with you instead of carry your passport everywhere you go.
2. Passport/Visa: I know it is obvious but some people forget their passport at home. To avoid this, get your travel document on a visible place or put it in your bag the night before your trip. Also, some destinations may ask you for a visa so avoid dissapointments and research months before your travel to see if you will need one.
3. Cash/wallet: have some money in your pockets, not so much but enough in case you need to pay for a bus or taxi once you get to the place.
4. Credit cards: Paying by cash is so easy and will avoid you to have big amount of money in cash. You will use it for check in and out at the hotel and probably to pay most of the journey.
5. Airline/train ticket: This is also logic because without them you can embark or boarding to your destination. Put them together with the passport and id card.
6. Copies of reservations: Some hotels might ask you for a printed reservation so have them in hand once you get to your accomodation.
7. Itinerary printouts: If you are old fashioned (like me) you will have to print your travel itinerary to show it when you check in at the airport. However for those techno addicted (like Jamie) you can download the airlines app that will get your itinerary on your phone and will avoid you queueing at the airport.
8. Contact info for tours/ hotel etc: Get some info before your travel such as hotel address, emergency contact etc. If you have arranged a tour, ask for the tour operator's number so you can always double check the time of their activity.
9. Copies of passport: This is such an important tip which I learnt when I lost my passport in Rome (click here to read about it). Always have a copy of your passport with you and leave the actual document at the hotel, you could also carry a photocopy with you as Id.
10. ENJOY!!
